Religious Education Program
In order to give life to our rationale and meet the institutional objectives, we design program which will be composed of three phases:
A. Renewal of the Christian Faith, B. Indoctrination, and C. Socio-pastoral dimension.
A. Renewal of the Christian Faith
To understand this phase, one must take into consideration that many of our freshman students come from different backgrounds (regional, education and religious). Somehow these students were already taught about the basic catechesis but without giving too much emphasis on the real essence of Christian faith. Hence, this course is designed to make the student fully aware
of the gift of his Christian vocation.
B. Indoctrination
At this stage we begin the indoctrination process by deepening one’s faith. It contains the basic Christian doctrines which evince thematically Christian morality (Commandments), the Mysteries of the Christian Faith (Sacraments), and the Christian Faith (Creed).
C. Socio-Pastoral Dimension
At this final stage, it is expected that students will have developed socio-pastoral awareness; they have to be actively involved in the promotion of the gospel values through the activities of the Church. The ecclesiological aspect will be geared towards the Church’s role in the present society. Hence, relevant issues concerning social spheres will be given special attention, like the role of the Church in the Philippine Politics, the role of the family as the core of the society, labor and social justice, etc. In this phase, the students will be given opportunities to put into practice what they have personally believed (first phase) and learned (second phase) through pastorally oriented activities (in coordination with the school’s outreach program).
