SSC-R Manila religious and lay administrators took an out-of-town session last January 28-29, 2010 at the Island Cove in Cavite to lay down strategies based on the direction set by the school board through its formulated thrusts. This two-day activity allowed the group to sharpen their orientation on the vision, mission, life purposes and objectives of the institution through the presentation made by the VP for Business and Finance, Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR. It also enabled all department/unit heads classified under each VP office to present their performance using the gap analysis report format. Later, the following School Board Thrusts were presented by SSC-R Manila president Rev. Fr.
Anthony A. Morillo, OAR.

Increase the SSC-R Manila enrollment in all levels

Offering of new courses/programs in all levels

Continued improvement of services and facilities

Enhancement of the employees administrators, faculty and staff) and students development programs

Maximizing the school's core competencies

Promotion of transparency and commitment to uphold the highest standards

Strengthen the research culture and environment of the entire SSC-R Manila community
-
Pursue the goal of becoming the Center of Development and Excellence

Strengthen the local and international benchmarking and linkages of all the major courses and departments

Enhancement of the College of Law (COL) and Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS)

Strengthen the Parents and Alumni Association

This was followed by the formulation of the institutional annual plan which was done in group workshops. Prior to the workshop session, the mechanics and guidelines on budget preparation were discussed by Mrs. Ceres Alcantara. All the conceived plans were presented by the groups during the plenary session.
VP for Academics Rev. Fr. Leonardo P. Pauligue, OAR rendered the opening remarks while IREP Dean and VP for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. Cristituto A. Palomar, OAR led the participants to a delightful prayer and invocation.
In his closing remarks, Fr. Morillo thanked everyone including the Accreditation Office (under the headship of Dr. Rodrigo Ponce) for instituting this very important activity. He then segued to urge everyone to do the “working” now that the thinking and planning activities were completed.
Sharing some very interesting success stories was Dean Willard Riano who inspired the session with the effective strategies being implemented by the College of Law.
Meanwhile Campus Minister Rev. Fr. Renie C. Villalino, OAR stressed in his homily lessons the “Parable of the Seeds” which mentions that anything started with something good will bear fruits. He then encouraged everyone to find time and show a significant presence in the mass in order to be always attached to the “vine”. He concluded by emphasizing that “the good deeds we do today becomes a virtue tomorrow”.
The group unwinded with fun and games during the socialization activity that was provided by the group of VP for Student Welfare Rev. Fr. Cristopher C. Maspara, OAR and Mrs. Jane Bautista.

Albert Danan and Mrs. Olga Paguia. Mrs. Cristina Aliwalas reported, during Day 2, the summary of Day 1 session.
